What Is No Sock Left Behind?
No Sock Left Behind is a community care initiative created to bless individuals and families in need with one of the most overlooked essentials: clean, warm socks.
Everyone has that drawer full of lonely, mismatched socks and instead of throwing them away, we turn them into a blessing. Your unmatched, unused, or gently worn socks get cleaned, sanitized, paired, and redistributed to those who need them most.
A small gift can bring comfort, dignity, and warmth.
Every sock is an act of love. Every donation touches a life.
Why Socks?
Socks are one of the most requested but least donated items for:
- shelters
- transitional housing
- schools
- families experiencing hardship
- individuals facing homelessness
Clean socks help prevent illness, injury, and discomfort but even more importantly, they show someone that they’re seen, valued, and not forgotten.
How It Works
1. You Donate the Socks You’re Not Using
We accept clean or gently used socks (even singles!).
2. We Wash, Sanitize, and Pair Them
Our team takes care of all the cleaning and quality checks.
3. We Distribute Them to Our Community Partners
Shelters, churches, nonprofits, and families receive the socks with care and prayer.
How You Can Help
Drop Off Socks
Live in the DMV area? We will pick up your socks directly from your home. Schedule a pick up and we’ll take care of the rest. Send an email to lightandsalt@lightandsaltco.org to schedule your pick up.
